No I didn't know about Part P.. . on reading it I guess that this is outside of DIY and will need a sparky to do the work.
I have layed the cable and connected it so it should just be a case of the sparky testing rather than 'doing' thus saving some £...

At the moment, yes, I am going 30 sockets to 1 - yowch even I can see that this is not wise. But when going direct to the orange cable 30 sockets should be ok . . ...
Homebase have a deal £1 for Philips low energy bulbs (£1.99 each by buy one get one free - and a 6 year guarentee!) so I have replaced all my bulbs this week with low wattage flouro stick.
The annoying thing is that in my lounge (the place lights are on most of the time) I have 8 x 40w blubs...
Right now I am not worried about WHO pays for the electric and where the power originates from just how to do it.
I will want to reduce the fuel bills and limit the amount of light spillage and I want it to be a permenent solution with low maintenance (no batteries)

I have a track that leads to my and 5 other's houses.
