Bulbs are halogen mn16 which have two vertical pins in base which push into lamp holder base and the base assembly gets hot and burns up !!

Having trouble with the lamp holders,replaced two bulbs and still not working, So assume the problem is with the lamp holder assembly. Does anyone out there have experience on how to remove this assembly as I want to change the lamp holders, 60p each as opposed to £80 to buy the complete lamp...
