ok... but then what could be making the very hot water turn to warm water? The hot water is getting right there under the bath, but somehow it's being cooled... The boiler is definately getting scalding water to under the bath, but then it's being cooled... You guys must be thinking...

Thanks for the replies both. Yes I do get hotter water if the flow is reduced. But why is the hot water pipe scolding, and then after a 2cm joint where the connection to the shower is, the pipe is warm? Yes there are service valves nearby. The pipes to the shower do not seem to change...
