    Hi, That's still useful, many thanks. The 3 relays do light up as the light in each room is turned on, so that's useful to know. Don't have a multimeter currently but sounds like my next step, along with Googling for the instruction manual for the unit ;) Appreciated folks. C.

    Hi, It's a central extraction unit with three pipe inlets extracting air from three small rooms, turning on whenever the light is turned on in any one of the three. It has a single outlet vent to the roof. Not maintained/filters unchanged since moving in last year, didn't see an obvious way...
