Cracks in mortar above patio door

Wont there be a visible damage to the brick work or evidence of new mortar with a diffirent color to the rest? I know there is certainly some sort of lintel on the inside because a cordless hammer drill could not drill through when I was putting up vertical rail blind so just used plasterboard...

Cracks in mortar above patio door

Too bright outside for the laser line so used a string stuck on both sides where it enters the brickwork and it looks perfectly straight. The lintel is pretty much behind the string without deflection when I climb to view at eye level

I have one of those laser level somewhere so will look to check. The widening has not been altered. There are 8 properties on the close built at same time. I have been in 5 of them with exactly the same widening. Unfortunately 4 have built conservatories (and covered) afterwards so cant check...

Cracks in mortar above patio door

There is a metal lintel in picture, sticks to magnet. Opening is original. The house was built very late 90's or year 2000. It had sliding doors when we purchased in 2003. I cant remember if the frames were metal or wood but the rest of the house had wooden double glazing. We changed to upvc...

EV Charger Install and looped power supply query

I'll most likely go with CU. It's the most logical area to puncture a hole into the house. All the other sockets are pretty much in use. I'll make sure installer makes hole adequate to fit EV charger cable should there be a need for it in the future

Would the electrician have to take supply from fusebox or an existing socket?

She bought the 1.2LPetrol 3008 last year and was surprised at the miserable mpg. It only gets 40+ on the motorway. It's used around town, short journeys, mostly under 30mph. It felt like we were buying fuel too often so compared the trip computer to proper measurements and they both tie in. I...

EV Charger Install and looped power supply query

Perfectly sound for me economically. I just scraped a perfectly loved and working X5 due to ulez. Replacement would be another X5 but I cant justify the hefty prices they command nowadays given the mileage I do. The i3 has depreciated significantly and has a high sitting position compared to...

EV Charger Install and looped power supply query

I am trying to digest that link. I don’t have an external socket at home so would throw an extension lead from window on the landing unto the driveway. Would that be an issue with the lead?. A pain but no other choice

my mistake, it will be about 50miles weekly which is still low. This is the reason i did not want to commit to a charger till I’s sure I really need it.

I just called up UKPN. They told me that I might not need any changes, and that the installer will be the one to decide. is this true
