Problem sorted, overheat thermostat showing continuity but dodgy connection replaced spade end connector and VOILA; A OK. Thanks to all who helped.

Thanks Tony I realise the need to use Gas safe etc however just wondered why it may not be working as I never touched the thermocouple so presumed it may be a pressure switch issue or something simple like that?
