Well, as we're re-doing and updating the whole room i thought it would be a good idea to replace the shower unit with a new 'fresh' unit. The current one is very dated... white plastic which has gone yellow with age.

Check out the photo... by the looks of it you could be right - it certainly looks like a blanking plug! So would this explain the loss of pressure and also the cold radiator? Thanks!
