Thank you all good people, this forum is so useful to get advice.
Getting quotes now for the job, although I love DIY, but I'm not a gas engineer so I believe I shouldn't attempt to do it myself after seeing few YouTube videos...
I checked the valves, they are absolutely dry.
Took some pictures, the leak is happening in multiple places... the pictures show a bottom up view
Shall I consider the rad is fubar?
Thanks a lot for such a quick reply, it absolutely makes sense and made things a lot clearer for me.
It could mean I have multiple leaks, because the drop of oil is appearing on the left side of the radiator and the water drop is appearing kind of right side. I'll try to attach some pictures...
Hi
I have oil and water leaking from a standard home radiator (didn't think radiators had oil?)
The leak is very slow for water and very (very!) slow for oil. The drop of oil and water both appear right at the bottom edge of the radiator, so it could be just the edge leaking or the drop is...
Could you guys please look at the video above and comment on it?
I think the water mark is a bit of a red herring here, it might have been fixed in the past and the water marks have remained. The water marked area is completely dry.
I have had the O rings replaced, but as some of you guys...
Many thanks, everyone.
I have got new O rings so will see if they solve the issue. I hope it's not the diverter valve itself (which would cost 100+ to replace)
Will update here when I get round to replacing the O rings.
This forum rocks! ;)
Indeed it does, I hadn't thought of that perspective until you mentioned. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this proves! :)
Please ignore the numbers and other crap in the images of the nozzle that came out of that hole (this is because I made a little video of it from each angle and now...
The image is proving to be a bit of an optical illusion :) The black half circle is physically nothing, it's just the darkness inside the valve and those white dots on what looks like snapped piece of plastic is just the shiny/wet surface inside the diverter valve.
The half circle at the 4...
Thanks both JBR and Agile.
Agile, I have got the new O rings/seals to be replaced.
Please could you have a look at the below image I have taken of the inside of diverter valve where the filling loop assembly goes in.
Is that semi circle inside it normal? I was just wondering if it is...
Hello good people,
I received great help in the past using this forum so I'm here again with another issue, hoping someone can help me.
Our Worcester Bosch 28cdi Combi boiler (about 10 years old) has developed a fault where water is dripping from underneath drop by drop.
I'm definitely not...
Thanks all for your help and useful comments pointing me in some direction as to what could be wrong.
I ordered new spark electrodes, gas valve and pcb thinking some combination is ought to solve the problem, and got someone in to do this;
Replace the spark electrode - issue persists.
Replace...
Thanks Tony and Muggles. It's clear to me now that I shouldn't be doing it myself.
The reason I was wanting to replace flame sensing electrode first was because I observed that even when the flame is on (before ignition lockout happens) the spark electrodes keep on sparking.. that made me...
Hi Tony
I asked for the ignition lockout problem to be fixed, they quoted £400 to replace the pcb and flame sensing electrode including parts and labour. The engineer made a call to WB technical helpline and explained the symptoms and they probably said pcb OR flame sensing electrode.. so he...
Thanks Dan for your reply.
I've already made that call which left me with a £400 quote :/
I'm only looking for some help to locate and replace the flame sensing electrode before I cry and pay for the new boiler.
