Anyone out there??

I had my boiler repaired today as it had stopped working entirely, it was not firing up for HW or CH. The boiler engineer said there was a loose connection as the fan was not kicking in. He fixed it and it all worked. A few hours down the line it started making a terrible clunking noise, like...

I am a decent 'DIYer' but my knowledge of boilers and central heating is limited! Any help on this issue would be appreciated... My Potterton Performa 24 is always losing pressure, which suggests a leak. There is no leak upstairs or we'd know! One of the valves on the kitchen rads weeps...
