I understand the logic behind supplying the detector from the lighting circuit, but can i supply it from the ring, does it contravene the regs???

Team Can i supply a mains powered smoke alarm from a ring main via a fused spur, as i there is only a switched live near by. Building regs say a dedicated live, or local mains lighting circuit that is regularly in use, but I cant see why a radial of the ring with a suitable fuse would not...
