Hi all
I have a composite door that I would like to restrict from opening out more than 90 degrees as it is slamming against an external wall.
The restrictors I've seen online all require a groove in the door for the mechanism to slot into but as the door is composite I don't have that. Also...
Cheers guys ... I image that meshing would need to sit on the outside though somehow. Might not look so great.
I saw some specific rodent proof vents on Amazon - 16 quid a pop seems steep though for a frame and a mesh in the shape of an air brick.
Thinking this might be an alternative -...
Hi all
Heard some scratching under the floorboards last night and I fear we may have unwelcome guests. Hoping it's mice but you never know it could be those 'other' guys :(
I've had a quick look outside the house this morning and noticed that a few of our plastic vents seem to have holes in...
Hi all
We have a rather large concrete slab in the garden on which a 10x8 shed is sitting. It pings out against the rest of the garden and I'm thinking of painting it a dark grey / green colour to hide it away.
Do you have any recommendation on which paints could be used suitable for outdoor...
Hi all
We have some decking planters that I am looking to stain with an oil based colour.
The decking has a few knots in it and I'm wondering if I first need to treat these somehow - e.g. sealing? and if so what are the best ways to do this?
Cheers for advice!
I'm very much wise after the event :(
Seems like getting some mini guttering is a sensible route - that may end up being all I need to ensure water stays off the concrete slab / prevents splash back
However - the slab base is much larger than the shed - I've just not managed to put it...
Hi all
I have a new and empty 10x8 shed - built and sitting on a concrete slab as of last weekend. After yesterdays deluge of rain I'm kicking myself for not putting some damp proofing down prior to building.
I'm considering running some 100mm DPC (the roll type) down under the bearers...
Thanks Dave
Yes - you are spot on. The coldest wall is North facing and furthest away from the house ... and this is the one hit with the damp.
I think I'll tackle the bathroom vent ASAP and will also for good measure drill two additional 100mm diameter holes in the North facing wall for...
Hi all
We have a single walled store room that is adjacent to our downstairs shower room - no DPC . I've noticed that a plasterboard wall in the store which is furthest away from the house is now showing signs of penetration damp and I've been advised that I need some ventilation in the...
