Yes sorry only a small old gas fireplace removed but has a proper external brick chimney.

Hi All. I've ripped my fireplace out and am planning on bricking it up internally. I've added an air brick externally as I don't want one inside and blocked cowl off on top with a cap that lets air circulate. I'm wondering whether to just use single brick the dot n dab plaster board on top...
