Ok how i didnt manage to fry the stat i will never know, but i have studied the electrical diagram in the manual, and yes it is low voltage switching and i now have the boiler running via the Digistat 3 hoorah!!!!!!

If i undo everything i have done, the boiler still operates off the internal clock.
After some reading on the forum, have i been wrong to assume that it would be using high voltage live? Should it be using a common live that is low voltage switching?

Should be common live to pin 1 and call for heat on pin 3 (normally open) on the Digistat.
