hi i dont have a meter there were no black wires at all, there isnt any bare wires either and i cant fine an earth (which i take it is green and yellow in most cases) and all the cables were connected there is none choc blocked or anything

it doesnt have a timer attatched and it only has 1 knob on it the cryptic instructions seem to make out that it can be used for either 1 way or 2 way

i have tried to install a dimmer switch when i have removed the socket i havent noted to exact wiring my fault!!! in the wall i have 3 red wires 1 blue and 1 yellow on the switch there is 3 holes one of them has a wavey line on it i think this stands for common. can anyone please advise me...
