As far as I am aware, a qualified ACS gas engineer who holds MET 1 can move a gas meter up to 2 meters (Not the ECV) with permission of the gas supplier
If a gas meter and ECV are installed above a rear exit door, does this contravene Gas regulations and should it be moved due to the height and issues with reaching the ECV in the event of an emergency. Basically, you would need a chair to get to the ECV to turn off the gas.
I can't find any reference to this any place Would it be installed the normal heights of a kitchen wall unit 410 mm from base unit and 75 mm away from cooker? Thank you in advance
When installing 10 mm plastic Polyfit pipework under floors to radiators on a new combi system, should the 10 mm pipe be insulated? If so, is it a manufacturer's requirement or building regulations?
Many thanks in advance.

Was wondering what the average costs are to install a full heating system in a 3-bedroom house, including 5 rads gas boiler and plastic pipe.
Also, looking for a recommended Gas Safe Registered engineer on here who can provide a quote to install the heating system, based in Greater Manchester...
Hi all,
I have read a regulation some place that if the combined KW of gas boilers is over a certain amount, you must install an emergency cut-off switch near the door.
I know it's over 300Kw but cannot remember the exact KW figure or where I have seen the regulation.
Any wise owl on here...
That's the problem, there is none fitted, so basically, it would be impossible to find out who installed the cylinder if multiple registering organisations are used?
So basically, they can self certify but must register the newly installed cylinder with one of the above governing bodies you mention?
If you don't have a copy of the compliance certification, how could I find out who the cylinder is registered with and get a copy?
Thanks again
Do Unvented Hot Water Cylinders, once installed, need to be registered as fitted and if so who with?
Thanks in advance
OOPS just found this and to clarify; does this mean the installer of the unvented cylinder must notify Gas Safe Register they have installed a New Unvented Cylinder on an old...
