OK, I've gone through the saga of repairing my clapped-out Sime Super 90 plus (90,000 BTU) combi by changing the DV. It copes, just, but I think there's more severe problems because it takes ages to heat DHW. Plus it's massive. And I thinks it's dying. So, because I trust the majority of the...

Right, I've ordered a new DV. They're about £24 + VAT from BES - I know it isn't genuine Sime but the feeling from these forums is that they're up to the job. Having said that, I fitted a new BES DV last November - it looks like I got it from a dodgy batch because the CH was still heating up...

Hmm..... don't honestly know. I'd guess that the boiler and rads were done at the same time (guessing 20 years ago). Presumably the pipework was done at the same time (is this a logical assumption?) Fitz - do you fancy making the trip to Oldham or should i contact a local heating engineer?

True, but with a new DV I might be happy with my current boiler. And the BG quote was errm..... a little more than expected. When i can get a new DV relatively cheaply, i'd have to be fairly narked off with the old boiler for it to cost me over £3K! Bob

Thanks again all, Yes - 90 is 90,000btu. And yes, the meter goes at about 1 cu ft every 36-37 seconds. I think I'll get someone out who knows what they're talking about (and isn't targetted on selling boilers!!!!) to see if my current system can just be overhaulled and tweaked to run like...

Cheers, if at present the 15mm pipe goes (approximately) 30m, and I got it replaced with 22mm pipe going (approximately) 12m, will I actually notice a significant difference to the DHW capability of the SIME boiler (once I've had the DV changed)? Even with a fully working DV, the DHW took...

I've currently got a Sime Super 90 Plus boiler. It's big, it's old and the DHW is rubbish. Having said that, it needs a new diverter valve (I replaced it last year, but the replacement (brand new) was also faulty - I didn't return it because it was better than the old one, it was only £25...
