To be honest i couldnt see a tacho on it, its unlike the one in the photo on this site, you can clearly see the brushes thru the casing, all you can see at end of the motor is the end case where the bearing is, its a kinda fully enclosed motor, there was'nt a circle bit with a bar across holding...

took the motor off, all looks ok, the brushes look ok, they hardly look warn, i guess it must be the module then, any thoughts welcome. would a new module not be worth it, am i basically looking at replacing the machine or would a local call out guy have refurbished one.?.(module i mean)

well that didnt seem to cure the problem, i put the module back on and no joy, it washes really harshe for 4 goes then stops, should i remove the motor and check the brushes and Tacho thing..(whats the purpose of the tacho by the way)?..dont seem to be getting anywhere with this..i dont mind...

Thanks again for the advice, i am going to re-solder the connections that have broken then will take it from there, i have never touched the Tacho magnet yet or the motor brushes, i guess its a kind of process of illimination sometimes..does the motor have to come off to check the tacho magnet...

thanks for the input, i have taken the pcb module out and given it a good inspection..i have noticed that that on a particular part of the board there are 3 connections marked J1 J3 J2 ONLY J1 IS not joined together by a fairy heavy peice of wire, the other are broken, they look a bit like when...

I have had this washing machine and dryer now for 8 years plus and it has worked perfectly without any need for attention until today, maybe someone can help. basically it fills up, then does a kind of violent paddle, then it repeats this about 4 times then stops altogether..if i switch it...
