    Riello RDB Lockout

Thanks Burnerman. While I was away the Boiler would constantly hit the limit stat resuting in no HW/CH. The tank stat was a fault and was replaced. Don't see a link to the current problem? I have considered the wind factor - only ever known approx 5-6 other lock out occasions in 6 years...

    Riello RDB Lockout

Thanks chaps. Just what I need, seemingly good advice coupled with cheap throwaway comments that are only of value to the author. The boiler has been regurlarly serviced (and as far as I'm aware PROPERLY) and has just been repaired (overheating) while I was out on deployment.

    Riello RDB Lockout

I have a Riello Burner RDB1 BF 70/90 0/1 Code 3748351 Type 483150 fitted to my Potterton Statesman Flowsure+. It has been randomly 'Locking Out' for the past month. The boiler fires up without problem and can run from anywhere between 1-2 hours to 5-6 hours and then locks-out. I have...

    Potterton Statesman Flowsure+ - Overheating

I can easily move it with my fingers. Ordered new CP53 pump - this was cheaper than the valve actuator and with the speed switch problems I was having, would like to rule it out.

    Potterton Statesman Flowsure+ - Overheating

Further investigation - had the fault condition today (no CH, no Overheat indication, DHW ok.) Removed the diverter valve actuator - valve spindle and actuator drive in corresponding position - at the time DHW. Operated room stat and observed actuator drive rotation - this took 10 secs to...

    Potterton Statesman Flowsure+ - Overheating

Thanks Oilman. Have you any ideas for testing the pump and the diverter valve actuator to determine which is at fault, or is a matter of fault finding by component substitution?

    Potterton Statesman Flowsure+ - Overheating

Thanks for your reply. The boiler was installed in 2002 and I believe it's the original pump - Circulating Pumps CP 53.

    Potterton Statesman Flowsure+ - Overheating

Recently my Potterton statesman Flowsure+ started to trip out on the limit thermostat - generally during the night without the CH calling for heat - and therefore required manual reset in the morning. Couldn't fault the system as never actually saw a overheat on the temp gauge and I would have...

    Oil Boiler Service

Could anybody out there give me a rough guide on how much a service on Potterton Flowsure Statesman+ would be? The boiler is 4 years old and in good working order. I have recently replaced the Air vent valve, re-charged the Expansion vessel and replenished the system with corrosion inhibitor...
