Yep, planning to store Xmas decs etc. previously old furniture has been stored up there which probably account for the cracked ceiling

It looks as if the joist is nailed on to the rafters (?). As you can see from other pics the joists seem to be a bit haphazard (to my eye). Stopping in the middle of the floor etc. I’ve had a fiddle with the joist and there’s no movement on it at all. I’m assuming it’s being supposed by the...

Can’t see any signs of support at all. On the ceiling below there is a hairline crack running the length of the joist above but as the ceiling is artex I always just assumed it was a crack in that. Will post pics when I get up there shortly

That’s quite possible. There are different tiles up there, bit of a bodge job (not me). Thought for the day is: leave or so something about it?

Afternoon! Been up in the loft to board it and these rafters are damp to touch. I don’t think it’s a condensation issue as there are tiles missing, so plenty of fresh air wafting about. Any thoughts on whether this is a major issue that’s needs sorting or any remedial action I can take, apart...
