    If there is air in the boiler pump or HE should that purge/bleed itself out, or do i need to do anything? I'm a little scared that this is the wrong time of year to be left without CH overnight! It's freekin cold out. lol.

    I thought as much. Thanks very much Kev, much appreciated. I'm now just debating whether to go for the unit you suggested, or this easier to wire one, given that i think the best place to put the thermostat will be in our lounge..... A long way from the boiler...

    bath panel won't budge

    Ditto! The previous owners to my house did exactly the same, i ended up cracking the bottom of my bath panel off, flexing the panel extremely until it unhooked from the bottom, then siliconing it up to some sort of a tidy fashion again afterwards.
