Ah so the pipe isn't leaking sadly, but this area in the pic is v wet if I put my finger around here and behind the plaster it's wet. It's far away from the damp up the walls though. So must be external wall has somewhere failing after all these years
Thanks for that. Gonna check one more thing I noticed the bath waste external pipe is quite old. My ptrap was replaced but this pipe remained it could be that on letting out of the water there's a leak in the waste pipe. Just thinking it's worth double checking letting the water out with the...
Hi all,
I have had a few leaks in my bathroom last year but they were rectified. The problem I now face is what looks like rising damp in a spot along the bathroom wall first image.
i pulled bath panel off and its dry underneath. I took the skirting off here and its really damp see second...
This makes sense. So what I think has happened is they have reused the plastic that was there when they stopped my really bad leak. These flexible pipes were used to prevent ripping out the bath . Having said that when the taps were repositioned for easy access, the copper should have extended...
i hear you thanks for the feedback it makes sense. To be fair, I had a major copper pipe leak a few weaks ago as it corroded over time it was a tight fitting and these flexible pipes were used to avoid ripping everything out. But yeah, once that was fixed and the new taps installed in a new...
Hi all,
Got another leak. I had a tap on the bath leaking so had them replaced last week. All was good but then noticed a slight wet bit beneath the pipes feeding the taps. I have located the leak using a tissue. I noticed tissue is wet whether tap is on or off. It's v minor but it shouldn't...
Thanks, apologies but which cross head are we referring to, would this be under the 'hot' cap in the tap?
I think the taps will need replacing as the diverter when put to the showerhead leaks from the diveter when on. But thought if I can stop thos pooling in the meantime all good.
Once I have...
I gave it a tighten but still persists. However, had this of worked surely it would have just been keeping water inside the tap and not escaping? The leak is from somewhere and does not appear to be underneath where else could it be?
Hi all,
Another day another leak.
This time I have noticed some pooling of water at the base of the tap. I checked under the bath/tap and don't believe it's from there. Am I right in thinking it's the valve on the tap that needs replacing?
It's not coming from anywhere else above the tap that...
Damn that's annoying we reset the overflow as it wasnt aligned properly now looks like we ill have to replace it with the waste. Hopefully as mentioned two people can do it without removing the bath. Let's see
Thanks for this. It's quite hard to get under the bath I may have to get a plumber in to move out the bath which is frustrating as the previous leaks were fixed without moving out the bath.
