    Thermostat help!

Many thanks for that!! The instructions for the old thermostat wiring can be seen here: www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/pdfs/07/p3133907.pdf From this, I assume the wire in block 4 would be neutral? Many thanks...

    Thermostat help!

Evening all, I currently have a Hortmann HRT" thermostat which is temporamental! It has 3 wires into in - live "load" and neutral. I've just bought a Siemens RAA20 to replace it, but the instructions show only 2 wires, seemingly live and neutral... Is it possible to wire this thermostat...

    Engine light on Zafira

Hi junior, this should be fine! All the EGR (Exhaust Gasses Recirculation, or something like that!) is there for is to help warm the engine up! I know a lot of people who just blank them off entirely - no detrimental effect as such, except the car will take longer to reach temp! HTH Dave

    Room thermostat problems.

Hi, We had a similar problem when we moved into a brand new house! Thermostat wold control when the heating came on instead of the timer (mechanical). The problem on ours was in the wiring... Basically, where the timer was wired into the terminal block in the boiler itself, it wasn't...

Fence Posts have 'moved' after concrete is set?

Hi KK, At least they are straighter, lol! That's the main thing though! Those screws should be fine I'd say - if in doubt you can always put more screws in each post anyway! Good luck - it must be warmer where you are! Or your a glutten for punishment, hasn't rose above 3/4 deg here today!

    renault scenic lights

Not 100% sure if this will be the same for it, but normally on rear lights you remove the actual light cluster from inside the boot. Have a look on the boot trim where the lights are, there should be a clip or similar to remove an area of trim to allow access. Then the plastic light clutser...

HELP! My Fiat Punto 1.2 1995 is overheating excessively!!!

Hi Zippy, Thermostat would normally be located where the top hose from the radiator enters the engine block. I wouldn't imagine having the bonnet up would make much of a difference when the car stood still. Have you tried driving it since? Less stress on the engine when not under load...

HELP! My Fiat Punto 1.2 1995 is overheating excessively!!!

What does the water look like? Daft question but does it look like there is oil mixing? Also check the oil filler cap - should be black and not like a myonaise. This would suggest head gasket failure! However, it could be something as simple as an airlock in the coolant system? Or a...

Fence Posts have 'moved' after concrete is set?

Apologies... That'll teach me for assuming things  If your putting the batons in between the posts, it shouldn't make too much difference really! They should move enough to allow you see them back straight, or you could cut to measure!? Let us know how you get on - and pics of...

Fence Posts have 'moved' after concrete is set?

Doesn't mean they are crap posts - just wood is prone to warping anyway! What has the weather been like since you put them up? And were they dry or wet when you put them up? Thinking about it, I had the same when laying the decking in the back garden! They were 18' long and it rained for...

    Budget OBD readers

If you don't want a one where you need a laptop etc and just want to obtain any error codes, I got one from Talk to My Car (google the name for their site). Very helpful and excellent service. Mine just plugs in and gives any codes... I was told might not work on brand new stuff (they have...

Fence Posts have 'moved' after concrete is set?

In the original post, he said timber posts set in concrete! 2-3cm I would imagine woudl be from as Thermo suggested and the wood has warped a little. I would imagine though, that it shouldn't cause too much of an issue to continue with your fence. You could 'pin' them back for a few days or...

    Garden wall foundation mix

Excellent - I was hoping I could do it like that! Thanks very much! Would it be feasable to mix manually, or given it's a total of 8m length should I be looking at a mixer hire? Doing one at a time due to too many weeds... lol
