if your spending around 2k, then id say go with a transit purely for reliability & even if you do have problems parts are cheap and easy found.

im from northern Ireland (still in the UK) thank god ! its a mixed bunch down south... some hate the English with a pure passion (mainly old folk that lived trough the troubles) and most of the young don't give a feck :lol: but as namsag says they'll take anything with the queens head on it...

if your happy with the earnings and it covers your life style then stick at that rate then bump it up a bit every so often. but from your description id say £15-18 per hour sounds about right, but would your contractors stand-on at this rate ?

sounds like outlet valves closed ? hence extremely high compression. have you had the head off to see if there was any damage ? have you had the rocker cover off to see the correct operation while turning over ?

how old is the primera ? there is a chance either your car or the wing off the other car has been painted before, so there could be a very slight differance in the shade. also check the side repeator hole is the same.

if they have not given you a chance to correct the fault before calling in a secondary party, then id say they would be in the wrong. i wouldn't worry to much about it. could be far worse, like 16k. relax and don't lose any sleep over it.

i find alot of cars voltage while running is around 13.6ish volt. so cant see 15v being a problem.

i was thinking about buying a 2002-2004 renault kangoo with the sliding door on the side. have they any faults ? i hear the head can give trouble boiling etc ? what is the average mpg ?
