Thanks, turns out it was just some scum on the rubber seal. I scraped it off and all is now good. And I also now understand how these work. Cheers

Hi I know this is common but not being a building person I am a little confused with me fittings. Image posted. Water flows in but never gets above a cm deep. Any help is sppreciated, Thanks
