Replace obsolete electric fan oven thermostat Stoves DF550SI

I found a working solution to this problem myself: When turning off the oven, I don't take it to the end stop. I turn it passed the click when the element and indicator turn off, then further till the light and fan turn off and just a fraction further but not to the end stop. Now the oven...

Replace obsolete electric fan oven thermostat Stoves DF550SI

I have a faulty obsolete (20yr old) oven thermostat incorporating a separate oven fan/light switch tab. Can't find a 'universal' replacement. If I fit a standard 2 tab thermostat, and connect the fan and light, they will switch on and off with the element which is not ideal. I have a Stoves...

    Bread maker trips RCD

I know this post is old but others might find it useful. After garage storage, my Morphy Richards Breadmaker Fastbake 48281 kept blowing trip switches when heater came on. I removed the heater element and baked it in an oven (180C/1hr), then on reassembly it worked OK. Oven heating reduced the...

Need to replace faulty Honeywell ST9400C

The voltage on the relay was 27v which dropped to 20v with both relays on. (19v and 15v if the backlight it's on as well). A working controller gave 45v with little change with load. An oscilloscope confirmed the low voltage with a ripple of 3v pp at about 100hz so looks like the zener bridge...

Honeywell ST9400C timer and no hot water

I found that if you tap the top right hand corner, where the relays are, it will work. Alternatively you can turn off the back light, that works too. I think there is not enough power for the relays, you might notice the display dimming when trying to activate the relays. Could try soldering on...

Need to replace faulty Honeywell ST9400C

My st9400c is outside the batch at 0939, and is not working. Works fine on auto but manual overrides don't turn on the relays unless I tap them (top rh corner). However I found that turning off the backlight gets it working again. I guess that there is only just enough power to set the two...

    Issue with ST9400C programmer

A lot of these units are faulty. I found tapping the top right hand corner where the relays are, could force them to open. Also turning off the backlight helps more power to go to the relays. Faulty units are from week 37of2010 and week 39 of 2011, but my unit was 2009 and was still faulty. They...

Programmer expected voltage - Honeywell ST9400C

It seems that there is not enough power to set the relays. I found that tapping the relays in the top right hand corner will turn the faulty one on. I also found that turning off the light allows enough power to turn on the relays without taping . not a good design or faulty components?
