I agree but when a company like Tapi Carpets who as I said before are at the higher end of the market boast about 'we take care of everything' and 'we can even out floors' but in reality they don't, its misleading. I will write to their CEO and update my feedback on Trustpilot so everyone is...
I managed to speak to the fitter today on the phone. He mentioned the issue relates to the joist. He was aware of the issue but for some reason did not tell me at the time but instead put the laminates straight on top. He said the joist in that area is higher which is causing the issue and said...
I don't know. Tapi provide a full service including fitting. They removed the carpets and installed the laminates. One would think they would know what they are doing as their fitters are fully vetted and not everyone can be one of their approved fitters. Plenty of fitters would be knocking on...
It is very solid yes, very firm. The other areas are much softer. Sponge rubber underlay was used. Possibly the fitter packed the area by putting somethign under there, I don't know. It is raised up.
Thanks but the issue we have isn't the dip but that area, the laminate is raised up like a bump as the spirit level shows so when you stand on that area, it is higher than the rest of the area. To rectify this does the chipboard need replacing or sanding down or something else? Normally how is...
Hi,
We recently had laminate flooring installed in one of our bedrooms. After the fitter left we later noticed one area where it raises and then dips. I have attached photos, you can literally see the scotia trim raised up and then goes down. I even used a spirit level and you can see the...
Hi,
We are thinking of installing carpets in our loft which is fully boarded (18mm chipboards) and we had two carpet companies (very large) where the surveyors came in to look at it.
One of them said you can't have carpets and underlay because there are no skirting boards to tuck the carpet...
I wasn't sure what this means. Its because of the issue described in original post. Presumably either the pan connector is going to need replacing or as one person advised me (a plumber) to put silicone sealant around it as it will be a big job removing the toilet
Many thanks for all your replies. I have attached another picture of what the flooring looked like before the tiles were put on. Am I correct in thinking that the black collar serves no purpose and that a pan connector should directly go into the soil pipe (that grey pipe)? The property in only...
Hi,
We recently had our floor tiles done. Work was all done and plumber put everything back on including toilet but we noticed the bathroom smells very bad even when not in use especially behind the toilet, all the rooms in the house smells so we currently keep closing the door in bathroom. I...
Hi,
Recently I have noticed that when I turn the cold water tap on in the kitchen, a continous vibrating drilling type sound is happening. Sometimes the tap itself can be seen vibrating . shaking. When turning the cold water tap off, it stops. Sometimes it happens with hot water tap but not...
Hi, thanks for the replies. I took out one of the hinges and I just had follow up question. I understand just two measurements are important for hinge replacements. Stack height and stay length. My hinge has a black plastic bit fixed in from the top end. Attached photo. When I measure the full...
Hi,
I was wondering whether someone may be able to assist please. I have attached a few pictures of the upvc window in question. So basically one side (the right side) is out of alignment and the window won't close anymore. What happened was that the window wasn't closing and opening properly...
The garden wall socket is running off the kitchen from a small round junction box. I'm not sure what that is as it was done by electrician from previous owner. I don't know what is meant by protective device.
