Yes they come on separately using each switch. It doesn't do anything else.

I'm guessing that's the switch one yep, I'll check and take photo, we have another ceiling light in the room too. Which I'm guessing again is the other cable with all 3 wires.

I know I know, but the husband said it would be easy!! And now I'm the one fixing it. Anyway, here is another picture, I've spent the last hour playing with it! All electric off so still alive. One cable is for this light, one for the switch and one for the other in the room. But you know...

I have bought a new ceiling light and have managed to take down the old one, yep that's the easy part i know! Stupidly I didn't take a picture of how the old ones where fitted. Now I have lots of wires and no idea where to stick them, any help please? I understand that the wires are forming...
