    If you don't have a drop tester , then just turn the mains off one day , the panel should carry on as if nothing has happened ( for about 8 hours).If it doesnt , as yours didnt , then replace the battery , if possible with a larger capacity.

    You may have blown the separate fuse that supplies the remote keypad.This is in the main panel and is usually 1 amp 20mm type.

    Yes , sounds like the battery , also look at the battery fuse and make sure the battery leads have about 13.6vdc at the end of them. Battery is available from Maplin or Screwfix 12v 2.1Ah or thereabouts.

    I have used a few G4 panels , no problems, the quality seems to have inproved from G3 to G4..circuit boards and components etc.

    When it goes off next time ..have a look at the display panel and see which leds are on(probably Tamper), this will give a clue.If your system hasnt been serviced recently (last 3/4 years), then a replacement battery is recommended.

    The Texecom Veritas R8 is a good basic 8 zone panel , with a good installer guide, and is easy to program and use.You could also look at the Texecom bellboxes and the Prestige pirs, all cheap and easily available. Tip..buy the best battery you can , a large Yuasa.

    Help please

    Check the inline battery fuse and the condition of the spring inside it. If you can , measure the voltage at the end of the battery leads , with the battery disconnected, should be about 13.65v dc.
