have tried scoring it have just found a reply to use 40 grit glass paper then soak with water

how do you remove novamura wallpaper it's in my mum's house & been up a few years. have tried steamer but seems to make it worse. spent 6hrs stripping 1 6ft wall. Any Ideas please
