    I think you are on the right track Tony as it only seems to do this when its close to freezing. If the sun gets out later in the day the rads start to cool down. With hindsight im not impressed at the siting of the boiler in the loft,but I did not expect to be visiting it on a daily basis...

    Having listened to all your comments im happy that it is the frost stat kicking in and not a fault. I left the room stat at 22c last night and after a mild rainy night the rads were stone cold before the timer switched on at 7-30 am. Thanks to all for your very helpfull comments :D

    Yes we do. One has a red light that flashes when setting the temperature on the dial, and there is also a box that flashes green when the heating is activated.
