Here's an m4a audio file of the noise:

The first bang is at around 17s then another 12s later. Then at 2m 29s.
Good shout but I don't have any vents in the bathroom (unless they're hidden) - the only place I haven't checked is under the bath ??? They're unlikely to bang so periodically don't you think.
Hello forum,
This is an odd one I'll admit.
I have noticed a loud noise coming from somewhere (in the wall) in our bathroom. It's very odd and I'm out of ideas on what to try next.
First off it's reliably repeating around every 2m 11s (two loud cracks approx 12s apart). It's loudest near the...
Hello forum,
I could do with some advice on how to fix a problem we have with our 120 year old semi-detached house. The rooms at the front get damp and the companies we've had look at it say that two air bricks need to be fitted.
Now since these two companies have been around I've had a closer...
I dismantled the connector and there was a 15 mm reducing set fitted. The 15 mm pipe and top piece of the set came out easily but the insert was a nightmare to get out (it took me several hours). Luckily it eventually came out with an improvised "puller" and the 22 mm pipe and new olive fitted...
Thanks Muggles & Dilalio,
I think I get what you're both say. One of you suggests the connecting to the horizontal pipes between the sinks and the other to the vertical section of the waste pipe (which was what I was planning). Is there any advantage to either option?
Hi Forum,
I need to add an additional appliance waste to the setup in the attached photos (there are already two in the first picture). I can't seem to find anything obvious online that will do the job so can anyone here point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
DD
Thanks Denso13,
I was hoping that someone would say something like that (i.e. buy a different adapter). Any chance you could point me to such a product online? Otherwise I'll just be guessing.
Is it one of these...
Denso13,
It's a recommendation from the manufacturer. It's to do with flow rates I think.
JohnD,
It's 27mm diameter (86mm circumference) which is why I posed the question. I need to move the stopcock to be more accessible so I can't go from the black plastic to a stopcock.
John D,
Thanks for confirming it's not mandatory to have a hard water tap. Your explanation is exactly my understanding. The garden tap is un-softened (see diagram in my original post)
