I know that, but it would have been off for another couple of days at least if I didn't look into it. They don't work weekends and have no out of hours engineers. From past experience they won't reimburse what we spend on a callout either. I wasn't about to start fiddling inside the boiler as it...
I was sorely tempted... lol
I've followed the steps that CBF recommended. The motor turned easily, so easily that I thought I wasn't finding the notch at first. From the photos you can imagine that shining a torch and looking into the hole was impossible...
When I turned the valve to the...
There's no immersion heater unfortunately so looks like I'm stuck trying to unseize the pump. Thanks for the tip all the same
Will post back with results later when I'm home

Thanks for putting me on the right track. Here's hoping it works.
Will post back in a few hours

Just so I understand what I'm trying to achieve... You think the...
I did that. Gave the screw a quarter turn and water started to come out after a second or so. I tried the boiler again and it overheated again - a bit quicker this time, but it had been off for a few hours in the first video and only about an hour this time.
I loosened the screw again and let...
That's a relief, I wouldn't be comfortable doing much more than loosening some screws :)
So to get the air out I loosen the big screw on top? Is it like bleeding a radiator as in I wait for water to start coming out and then tighten again?
