I'm studying for knowledge purposes, studying ventilation rates I'm looking at figures which give numbers such as: 30 1/s for a Utility Room, 8 1/s is the Minimum high rate for the continuous extract. Can anybody please explain what these figures represent? Thank you.

Can somebody please tell me how air changes are measured within buildings? For example some rooms might have a 1.5 measured air change. How are these numbers calculated? Can somebody please explain? Thank you.
