    Architeckt showers: why so cheap?

Just adding my pennyworth 15 years later! I have 3 installed Jan. 2021 and zero issues so far. Good buy!

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

Sorry you didn’t get a free replacement but you did get a respectable discount! TBH I’m not impressed with the Grundfos pump. Mine was less than 2 years old and yours too - they shouldn’t be seizing up so soon! When I need to change mine I doubt that I’ll be choosing Grundfos again. There are...

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

That’s a great idea and certainly good advice. I’ve made a note of it to remind me next summer. Many thanks.

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

Hi Johnthe05. Whilst operating the blockage release screw with the pump in situ it seemed to be fine. It was pushing in and turning giving me the impression the impeller was turning. However, switching on again just gave the same ‘blockage’ alarm. Also, there was no hot water being pumped...

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

Sorry! I seemed to have duplicated Sussexman’s post instead of replying! Good luck with the warranty claim (although you may have issues as the pump has been opened!) For Sussexman and anyone following this thread this is what I did to solve the issue: - I removed the pump completely (plenty of...

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

Thanks Johntheo5 for the response. Since my post i have been in contact with Grundfos who have told me to get a replacement from my supplier under warranty, so I will try that route first. If that fails (cos at the moment I dont remember who I got it from!!) I shall take it apart again and...

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

A risky move but yes I did try - but no go.

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

Thanks for the response. I’m not able to change the operating mode due, I think, to the alarm signal staying on. Tomorrow I will dismantle the pump and give it a clean (and report back).

    CH pump: Grundfos UPS3 15-50/66

My CH pump shows the LED alarm for a ‘blockage’ however, the impeller turns freely (with a screwdriver) when the pump is turned off but, when I turn it on, the impeller does not spin. This indicates to me that the pump presumably has an electrical fault. Has anyone had experience in fixing this...

    Boiler isolation valves

Thank you all. I’m impressed by your expertise and advice. To summarise my understanding of the issue based on the comments: 1. The boiler is slightly higher than the thermal store resulting in convection of hot water running in reverse via the boiler flow. This is enough to cause a constant...

    Boiler isolation valves

Thanks Jeff, but, excuse my ignorance, how does the 2 port valve work? The boiler provides heat only to the thermal store. DHW and CH source their heat from the thermal store. They are not connected to the boiler.

    Boiler isolation valves

Thanks again for all the comments. Some details of the system: Boiler: Worcester Greenstar 8000 Life. LPG. (Sealed system) Only heats the cylinder - no other function. Thermal store: McDonald Thermflow 250l with F & E tank. Vented Both units are installed on the ground floor with the boiler...

    Boiler isolation valves

Thanks for the replies. There are no solar panels. It’s a basic set up with the system boiler heating, through a coil, a hot water cylinder/thermal store. During summer I’m not using the boiler only the immersion heater for DHW. However, the hot water continues to circulate to the point that the...

    Boiler isolation valves

Sorry. I didn’t make it clear. I switched the power off at the switch and the db. There is no pump running and the boiler is not firing. However, both the flow and return pipes at the boiler are very hot as they are all the way to the hot water cylinder a run of approx. 10 metres. The...

    Boiler isolation valves

No. Not external. I don’t know what’s inside the boiler unit.
