So N2 is always live n1 is only live when switched on. Nothing else shows a positive Does this help at all guys

AHH I think you hit the nail on the head. It also operates a extractor. It's only a single switch to a bathroom I'm going to test the cables to help explain what's live etc so hopefully you can help. I was just expecting two wires but then found this which confused me.
