    Air in system

Recently moved in to house. The old pump gave up and several radiators were on last legs. I took opportunity to go fully pumped rather than part gravity. It does not pump over - in fact looking in F&E tank while pipes are gurgling/fizzing downstairs the water in it remains totally static...

    Air in system

My new central heating system is causing me concern. A brief description- From the boiler (Glowworm Space Saver - to be replaced hopefully next year when funds allow) the main feed pipe rises vertically to a tee in airing cupboard above hot water cylinder. From tee vent pipe rises vertically...

    Differential Bypass Valve

Hi, Can an elbow differential bypass valve be positioned in a vertical or horizontal axis as is the case with TRV's. All the pictures I have seen of them show it with the adjustable valve head in the vertical position whereas I would ideally want to fit it with the head horizontal. Any help...

Quick fix for coil in hot water cylinder leak..

Is this stuff any good at sealing pushfit joints i.e. the O ring? I've always wondered if there is a way to seal a PF joint other than replacing it. Would it harm the rubber? Also I can understand Leakfix solidifying with exposure to air - but inside a hot water cylinder full of water...

    Washing Machine waste pipe route

Thanks Brumylad No it would not be possible to have a hole through the wall above the drain gulley & below the floorboards. Building a new drain etc is not really worth the effort and expense just for the washing machine. It always was a long shot of an idea! Thanks again, DJS

    Washing Machine waste pipe route

Hi! I would like to move the washing machine to the other side of the kitchen to improve the layout. The problem is that the back door would be between the W.M and the existing waste outlet to the drain. Is it possible/allowable to run a standpipe down under the floorboards incorporating a...

    Surrey V Warix Flange

As a matter of interest, how do you fit an Essex Flange? Drilling the hole in the side of the cylinder worries me a bit.

    Surrey V Warix Flange

Thanks chaps, I hope not to use any elbows in the pipe runs which will be quite short so I may well use plastic. The shower instructions don't actually state if any type of flange can or cannot be used, its just that someone else who contacted Aqualisa was told the Surrey Flange was not...

    Surrey V Warix Flange

Hi, I have bought a new Aqualisa power shower (1.5 bar) and already have a Surrey Flange fitted to the hot water cylinder. Aqualisa does not recommend using the Surrey Flange as they say it restricts the flow. They recommend the Warix Flange instead. How much affect on the flow rate would the...
