just use the grit it will only go on others drives in big heaps or stay in the bin as no one can be bothered to put it where its supposed to be. There is more beer cans than grit in our box.

check the pump is set on 3 also the top and bottom pump speed sensors sometimes need replacing

sounds like there could be a fault with the supply to the boiler pehaps reverse polarity, live and neutral wrong way round
