I don't think I will try it myself, it would definitely be a disaster! I just thought it might be cheaper to buy the chemical clean myself and then get some help. If the boiler still isn't right on Monday then I think I will get some quotes. Every plumber who's looked at it seems mystified...
I don't know of anyone in my area as we seem to have a real shortage. I will ask in Ideal Plumbing if they have a list of approved people. Should I be able to buy these things myself or would they be trade items? I really appreciate the advice. Thank you
Good point. I would have thought the plumber who fitted it might have mentioned all this. Especially as it is the same plumber who has done most of the work on it. Nevermind I think I will ask about having that done. It would make sense as the radiators don't heat evenly. I wonder if that...
Thanks i might investigate that a bit more. The plumber who fitted the boiler did use fernox and it hasn't really been used in 3 years due to all the faults! Electricity bill is horrendous due to running on the immersion for all this time!
We never had this many probs with the old one -...
Having had a new pump today i'm still not sure it's working. It has just fired up and gone straight out again. Think I need to call someone out again!!

Thanks for the response. I have had a new pump fitted today as it had apparently seized up. Considering this was the last thing we had fixed before it packed up a week later I can't understand what can be happening! Is there a reason why the pump could keep giving up?
We had a full...
Thanks to those who offered helpful advice. I have someone from British Gas coming over in the morning so hopefully they can sort it out!
I response to me breaking it..... I can assure you I have not done anything to it. I always get a CORGI registered plumber in........ Don't suppose you...
Thanks for your respaonse. We have already had 2 new pumps so I thinks it is time to ditch the useless piece of junk and invest in a new boiler that is not a Potterton!
Help.... 3 years ago I had a Potterton Suprima 40 installed. Ever since it has been a pain in the backside. Always breaking down and so far almost every part has been replaced. I think it has only been in use for about 6 weeks in it's entire life. I have spent a fortune on the damn thing and...
