Nope, one side they notched around the end decor panel so where it meets the hob area and other side at the end of the kitchen it doesn't

The units are parallel and plum. As the left hand units sit flush on the quartz they can't come down. The right hand units if they came down then wouldn't be same height as other side

Isn't that the point of templating with the use of lasers though so you get the perfect cut out irregardless of cupboards not being true?

I wouldn't know we have only been in the house for 5 years. In that time we only noticed the smells get bad when we stopped using it and opened up some of the pipework boxing. I do wonder though if sometimes when the house smelt stale was it actually due to the ducting not venting all the way out.
