What can be done to stop it going off randomly until the new battery arrives?

If we don't have a power cut, will it stay quiet.

I have a honeywell galaxy G2 20 already system that has statlrted going off during the night. I need to organise a battery for it. If I remove the battery will the alarm continue to randomly go off until a replacement is installed. TIA
