Get yourself a 12v leisure battery and a solar trickle charger. Wire up some posh LED based lights, will run for days on a full charge.

Did mine back in August, it was in poor condition and dangerous in the wet. Once clean I gave it a good oiling with Ronseal natural. It is still fine now, not slippy or mouldy.

Mine was the same until I did this: Pressure wash then Ronseal decking cleaner and reviver scrubbed in with a hard brush and left for 20 minutes to fizz away. Washed off and hey presto no more slippy decking.

Pressure washer, Ronseal decking cleaner/reviver and small stiff brush works well for my 100 sq m of decking. Tried watered down bleach which works ok, but the Ronseal brushed in and left on for 20 mins or so works damn well.

My commiserations, we have plenty of the damn stuff growing in the garden. Roots go down miles and nothing seems to touch it! If you do go the weedkiller route you will have to beat it with a cane or something to try and break the main stem struture apart otherwise the weedkiller just runs...
