Bosch WFF 1201 GB /01 replaced heater, now won't spin

Hi all, Bosch WFF1201 GB/01 washing machine kept on tripping the RCD, so I replaced the heater element, which had a hole in it... Now the machine will start a wash cycle, but it won't spin and keeps on heating the water to very hot. It sounds fine when it is turning the drum. Any...

    insulation ?

I think it depends if you have/require building approval or not. I have done my loft room, no buildings approval as the room was already there and the council have no records anyway and I used 3" kingspan on the underside of the rafters. *Should* have used 6" I think, to get the current regs...

Can I glue onto Kingspan underside with anything

Can I glue hardboard/plywood etc onto the underside of Kingspan sheeting on a sloping roof with anything? I want to cover the sheeting up but don't want a great deal of weight hanging off the roof. Any suggestions welcome!

I'm just wondering if it is possible to seal the edges of the flashing that lies at the join between the roof and a dormer extension, so that water goes down the flashing instead of seeping under the tiles? The roof is about 100 years old and it doesn't leak normally, just that in heavy rain...

Loft ceiling binder: cut and attach to new joists?

I know why the regs are there, and fair enough for a new build, but if the whole area had 5x2's from the beginning then there wouldn't be a problem. The span is 11ft max and the joists will be supported by load bearing masonry walls at either end, so I don't see a problem with support. As...

Loft ceiling binder: cut and attach to new joists?

Thanks for the reply, but it's not a loft conversion though: the room is already there and had a staircase in, but 20 odd years ago the staircase was taken out. All I am doing is putting better access in, in a safer location than having a metal ladder at the top of the main staircase :shock...

Loft ceiling binder: cut and attach to new joists?

Hi all! Boy am I glad I've found this site :D I've had a search around but can't seem to find the definitive answer to the immediate problem, which is: I have an Edwardian mid terrace house, that has a room in the attic. Been there 100 years, floorboards, dormer window already there. It...
