    Yes it would!! I have changed the NRV for a straight coupler and hey presto full flow! Thanks again for all your wisdom and advise it has saved me a fortune. (And I have learnt a lot about my plumbing) Here is the valve in question for anyone interested.

    Hi squeaky, The shower will 'sort of' run with the pump switched off, it has to be throttled back to only a dribble to be anything other than freezing cold though. I will have a look at the filters tomorrow and remove /refit the flex hoses while I'm at it. The hot water is working fine...
