Connecting HOT hose to COLD fill on washing machine.

Won't do washer any harm at all, will give you a larger than normal fuel bill though as all 5 rinces will be in your precious hot water Also a machine filling with hot water can ruin your clothes as your water going in will be hotter than 40 o 50 degC. And your clothes will come out well...

Indesit WN850WG Washing machine stops intermittantly.

Forget the bend on the pipe, you can take the pre formed bend off and throw it away, it's really for going over a sink but it's also to stop you pushing the outlet end of the drain hose to far down the standpipe, which is in effect what you have done exept it sounds to me like you haven't got a...

Indesit WN850WG Washing machine stops intermittantly.

The drain pipe is to low or pushed to far down inside the stand pipe. The end of the grey outlet pipe must be higher than the full machine's water level so water has to be actually pumped up and out, and an air brake ( a gap between outlet pipe and the stand pipe internal wall)

    washing machine plumbing

Yes I think you mean can a washing machine with 2 valves hot and cold, be used on cold fill only. The answer is yes, but you need to provide water to BOTH valves in order for all programmes to work properly. This is done as you say with a Y piece that goes on the cold tap and then run 2 hoses...

    Cleaning filter on Indesit WD125

If you have fully unscrewed/locked it and it still won't come out chances are it's the fluff in it thats stopping you pulling it out. Try a pair of pliers on the handle/knob portion of filter and jer, jer, jiggle it a bit whilst pulling in and out as much as you can it should eventually come

Ariston A/23 euro combi, intermitant fault

My son has an inherited Ariston A/23 combi, full new system looks to be about 2 yrs old. Spark generator gets no supply when it won't light (240 Volt), and after a few seconds lock-out lamp comes on, when it does ignite it gets about 136 volts ac. Tested everything I can think of. Fan and...

    Hotpoint wma48 black stains fault

If the stains look like splashes of black oil or paint, it's re-depositing of dirt on your clothes, it's not oil and will wash out over next couple of washes. The cause is not enough detergent over a long period of time. Soap powder is designed to remove dirt from clothes and suspend that dirt...

    Zanussi DW24 IWMU (tiredengineer)

tiredengineer At last someone on my side!!! Every time that b*****y advert comes on I cringe How can they advertise salt in the tablet, this encourages the user not to put salt in the salt bottle in the dishwasher. As you quite rightly said when salt is put in the proper place it is used...
