YES!! this is correct, take the three bulbs out - no fan what so ever!! How can i fix this???

done this in the for a fan light in the dining room! but when i hooked up the one in the sitting room with only 2 cables i cant get the fan working when the light is on (unlike the dinig room). the lights come on and off with the switch but the fan will only come on when the light switch is off?
