Thanks for replying. The grey is a concrete texture and the threads are very small and straw like. I’ve ripped out of the rest of the house interior. I didn’t even think about asbestos until I saw this.

Hi. I’m renovating my bathroom and just hacked tikes off a partition wall built around a large copper boiler and this is underneath. just wondering if anyone can help me identify this and whether it’s asbestos. Thanks to anyone that replies.
