Thanks guys. I already have those in my shed so will test some out on a spare broken tile.
The fire in there is a flame effect electric fire so maybe I won't need to redo the tiles.

I've just had some natural slate tiles laid in my fireplace. They are mainly grey with some rusty colours which is the rustic look I was after. When they are wet it does bring out the colours so my friend who laid them suggested I varnish them with clear matt varnish to get the same effect...

I've just exposed a brick fireplace after removing gas fire and horrid cladding! I intend to put together some oak beams as a chunky fire surround and I would like a more 'natural' look by keeping the bricks bare inside the fireplace recess - however they are quite sooty.
I have scrubbed them...
