Next door's gutter stops halfway along, so a lot of rainwater can run off their roof into the hopper.

The hopper was already there, it mainly collects water from next door's roof. My gutter was not previously connected to it. I did not ask for it to be connected the way it has been.

Thank you, this is really helpful. It’s going to cost £100 for them to apply the foam on one window. I’m not confident it’s even going to help. Best to put that towards some kind of secondary glazing.
