Burnerman , yes you have it spot on , its the plastic grooved fitting inside the tap head , does any one know where you can buy these please. thanks again

Sorry for the confusion , yes its a tap head on a ceramic fitting , thanks for the replies

The plastic insert in a ceramic tap head has been ' shredded ' due to over tightening this now means that the tap head is loose and cannot operate. Can you buy a replacement plastic insert or are there any other options. The manufacturer of the tap is no longer in business thankyou
