@EFLImpudence The bar in the top right is empty all the time, apart from today when I've set the temp lower. I have it switched on all the time, but the off peak isn't working. As soon as it hits midnight it's cold and turns off.

Thanks @ericmark - This is helpful. I do have instructions but there is nothing on what the bar in the right hand corner represents. Today I've had the heater on low and the bar is going up - well, it's gone up one unit. Therefore, I'm assuming it's charging. But maybe this is the wrong...
